Blog Topic #4
The SPCA as a whole does participate in different campaigns. The campaigns usually have to do with animals and giving them better lives. It usually goes on online, http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/campaigns/, this is a website which has all the campaigns the SPCA has going on and explains them to you and tells you what you could do to help. Their campaigns usually advocate on behalf of animals rather than politicians. The association might support a candidate but they use the campaigns as awareness for animal rights rather than the specific candidate.

Citizens and CP
My CP needs the support of the citizens living in the area. The SPCA looks for the support of the community by asking for volunteers and having a thrift store in which the community can either donate or buy merchandise. All the funds that are collected are given to the shelters with the greatest need. Participation affects the SPCA because the need for donations and volunteers in order to care for the animals properly is of the greatest impact to the shelters.

The Peninsula Humane Society
Animals have a right to live there life through as we do. The SPCA helps with this, they take in all kinds of animals and give them a loving home rather than killing them the way local shelters do. Not only does the SPCA find homes for domestic animals they also have a rehabilitation center for wild life. The SPCA does have to abide by regulations set by the state and federal government but since they are a non profit organization they do not rely on money granted to them by the state or local government. They are accountable to the local government of where they are located.
